All the nods to Alien you'd hope for. Seemed the premise was shooting higher than Alien had, but it missed the mark. Where Alien was a simple scary movie in space with a cool monster and hints of deeper meaning, this movie tried to be about deeper meaning with bits of scary monsters.
Tension and fright worked well though. This started slow, ending well.
