Review of Prometheus (2012) by Theodore H — 15 Jun 2014
I was expecting this to be the next 5-star movie, full of suspense and plot points that'll make you think and crazy, CRAZY twists...but it was instead a visually stunning pile of podunk dookietown. Not one time did a character react to something that happened appropriately; people died, the survivors never mentioned it or grieved; history-changing findings were tedious bits of commonplace; lies were revealed and not dealt with, only looked over. The c-section sequence was amazing, but less relevant than Scott wants us to think. This was a visual phenomenon but a middling-to-terrible everything else (see Avatar)...
It really doesn't matter that he was her dad. And why is everyone not equipped to do their jobs, or depressed when it takes more than six hours? And--oh, I need to quit; I will lose sleep.
