Review of Prometheus (2012) by Will B — 21 Feb 2014
I still will defend this movie all the way to my grave. It received a lot of flack due to certain story aspects. A lot also said that many answers were not answered but more questions were brought upon us.
This is both true and untrue. Many answers were answered. The question is, how closely did you look? The closer you look and expand your thoughts on it the more you'll understand. Now this isn't to say all were answered, but what we needed was.
Besides all that, this is the most fascinating movie made. Especially in the sci fi genre. The details that went into making this was phenomenal. The beginning alone was amazing. The waters and the sound editing of it. The style of the shooting of that scene was beautiful. Many other scenes follow this as well.
The 3D was also the best I have seen; possibly even better than Avatar. Now that is saying something. The depth that 3D adds puts you into this place. Makes you feel claustrophobic even. The IMAX was honestly the best way to have seen this.
The ONLY complaint I have about the movie is the choice of casting Noomi Rapace. I am not a huge fan of her and I feel she was miscast for the character. While this, I feel Michael Fassbender was perfect for his role of David. He added a mysterious quality to him while also making him innocent.
Overall, this movie is fantastic and I cannot wait for another to finish this part of the Alien world.
