Review of Prom (2011) by James R — 03 May 2011

Prom is a movie that is not going to do well in the box office. It was marketed very strangely even for a Disney film with many people out of the loop of this movie actually existing. It's a shame because the film is actually pretty decent.

If you've ever seen a high school related movie than this movie is not going to be any different. It has very stereotypical characters, theres the nerd, the rebel, the ditzy girl, the good girl, the couple thats been together seen Pokemon came out...all that typical shit. Overall, the film is not going to surprise you. The movie does have its moments regardless of these fails. There are many funny moments and I could relate to the most part to the franticness it is leading to prom even if I havent been in 5 years.

The movie does start out a bit slow. It doesn't seem to pick up pace until about half an hour into the film. From there the film becomes particularly strong in its theme of people falling in love. It's very obvious what happens, but its a very sweet story.

I would say if you have someone that wants to watch a fun nice sweet little movie then go and check this one out..it has its moment even though its a bit predictable. If not definitely give it a rent when it comes out.
