Review of Prom (2011) by Marcdoyle — 05 May 2011
It seems as though a writing team outlined the whole movie with plenty of characters and situations and simply forgot to add the actual writing and, more importantly, the heart. You'd never want to see this movie a second time, like you would a John Hughes movie or even 10 Things I Hate About You or Can't Hardly Wait.
Teegarden's character is so flat through so much of the movie, only to open up a bit at the very end. And her parents?? Hank from Breaking Bad was so underutilized, and when he does his "bad thing", the wife has no reaction.
She can either be pissed or supportive, but she can't do nothing! It's a cop out.
