How the hell are we suppose to like the main character when the hottest girl in school is interested in him, and so is his best friend. And he destroys his street and then he doesn't even learn his lesson because his dad said he was proud of him! The audience is completely cut off from any and all characters and events and instead of going "yeah these guys are awesome!" Instead we're like "how obnoxious can someone be?".
