Review of Project Almanac (2015) by Foxxpix P — 28 Jun 2015
Lollapalooza caused a plane crash?
A group of nerdy high school graduates about to head to college discover the schematics to build a time machine. They decide to move forward and find themselves having the time of their lives until the head developer botches a romantic attempt with one of his closest friends. He goes back in time to change the outcome of their encounter and changes history forever...
"I just wanted a second chance.".
Dean Israelite, director of the upcoming Power Rangers live action picture, delivers Project Almanac in his directorial debut. The storyline for this picture is interesting and unfolds well for the most part (there are some frustrating scenes). The action and setting are well selected and the cast delivers average performances. The cast includes Jonny Weston, Sofia Black-D'Elia, Sam Lerner, Amy Landecker, and Gary Weeks.
"I was either going to buy one of these or seventeen Toyota Corollas.".
My girlfriend felt the previews for these were interesting when it was in theatres so we decided to give it a shot when it was recently released to Red Box. Overall, this is an above average time traveling drama. There were some frustrating sequences with the main character where you wonder how smart he truly is; but overall, this is worth a viewing.
"You're just a liar.".
Grade: C+.
