Review of Professor Marston and the Wonder Women (2017) by Guy M — 21 Mar 2018
The film presents the central characters unflinchingly, forcing you to deal with them as human beings, not cliches - no matter how you may feel about their polyamorous relationship. Elizabeth and Olive demonstrate strength of character that makes it easy to see why they inspired one of the most powerful feminist icons in literature, but neither they nor Prof.
Marston is depicted as a paragon. The strong portrayals support a less restricted view of how one can live as a human being, and of what constitutes a family. Watch for wonderful but too brief moments with Oliver Platt as gruff comics pioneer Max Gaines.
