Review of Professor Marston and the Wonder Women (2017) by Elizabeth H — 20 Oct 2017
I've Loved Wonder Woman since I was a little girl in the 60s and 70s and then Along Came Lynda Carter. to see the backstory and the unusual circumstances and also the, would appear to be, blacklisting of this professor was very interesting.
I read a bit up on him and he was an extremely interesting person. I thought the film was beautiful and not a bit gratuitous but it was also a sign of their times when you consider they were rolling out of Victorian era which affected a lot of the Civilized world and being open-minded and how they found the things to put in for her that follow her to this day.
He was a feminist and I love that the women loved each other as much as they loved him. and that they stay together until all of dyed. I love that it was directed by a woman and that it touched on some things that a lot of people playing around with they don't realize the psychology behind, BDSM, and it could be just role playing like they were doing or all the way up to mr.
Grey. thought it was a really good movie and it made my heart pound through the whole thing for them and root for them and route for Wonder Woman. I also watched the woman who wrote a book about her when Gloria Steinem had put one woman on Miz Magazine's cover first issue.
Talking about how her powers were taken away and because men mostly couldn't stand it. She's the third biggest selling hero of all time in comics only two Batman and Superman. I like that she's actually part of the Justice League in the new movies and that they kept a lot to his original story and her phone.
Women directed both of these movies and Wonder Woman was one of the biggest silly movies ever and it was the biggest selling movie with a female lead. Because women need this even if it's a fantasy because it helps them get through their shitty days when they have them.
and I think I'm much stronger woman for having been a little girl reading Wonder Woman comics in the dark and seeing her on TV even if she was Miss America. Don't be offended easily to see it for what it is because that's how their lives were and it was beautiful and said so much about The Human Condition.
