Review of Private Parts (1997) by Jennifer G — 30 Jul 2010
The "King of All Media" really lives up to such a grand title with this film based on the book of the same name. Betty Thomas does a great job directing, as Howard, Robin, Fred & the gang do such a good job acting for the 1st time in a major motion picture. The story is an honest warts and all look at Howard's journey to the top. As well as his grouping with his co-workers, his marital problems, and what it took for him to become what he is today. There are a ton of laughs and sincere moments that even people that don't listen to the show will enjoy. I saw this movie in the theatre & I was shocked at how many were there that didn't look like your typical Stern listener. And afterward, they all walked out smiling or laughing.
After you see this movie & enjoy it, I highly recommend the book. The movie leaves out the problems Howard & Robin endeared throughout the years & left out too many things that happened to them at "WNBC".
