Review of Private Parts (1997) by Tony B — 28 Jun 2015
As biographical movies go, Stern's story is done well. Narrated and acted by himself, which he surprisingly does quite well, there is a strong blend of honesty and humor throughout the film. Thanks to being a shock-jock, there are no lulls in the storytelling and yet nothing that doesn't add to the overall purpose either.
I can't say the movie is ambitious in any way, but it doesn't necessarily fail either. Considering the subject matter, however, the lack of shock-storytelling shocked me.
