With a scary idea, a fascinating story, a fine script full of good dialogue, powerful performances by Hugh Jackman as Keller Dover, Jake Gyllenhaal as Detective Loki, Maria Bello, Terrence Howard, Viola Davis, Melissa Leo, Paul Dano and Wayne Duvall, well-done directing by Denis Villeneuve and a long but gripping pace and flow, Prisoners from beginning to end takes on a ride that makes you think while you're watching it and keeps you guessing the whole time.
