Review of Prisoners (2013) by R. S — 01 Dec 2014
If there's one thing that a viewer will get from watching this film it's that they'll never forget it. Compacted with Hugh Jackman's terrifying performance and a darkly gripping tale, this film is a keeper.
It's not for the faint of heart; it contains scenes with cruel brutality and violence, and sure, it makes the viewer uneasy, but it doesn't stop them from wanting to see the ending. Along with Jackman, Jake Gyllenhaal and Paul Dano bring out a deeper and often creepier character than what was originally in the script.
You may not think of it at first, but this film also shows the problems with how America is dealing with it's war-on-terror, and if there's any hope left.
