Review of Princess of Thieves (2001) by Scott S — 30 Jun 2009

I think overall this is a great movie with the lovely Keira Knightley as the leading role. It is a story about Robin Hood's daughter Gwynn who longs to be with her father in his mission to assume Prince Philip to his rightful throne after his father's death.

But Prince John also wants to assume the throne and tries everything in order to get rid of Prince Philip. When Robin is captured, only Gwynn, disguised as a boy is the only hope. My low points are the sword fights, which for me were very childish, the swords made as if from plastic.

Even the swashbuckling movement of the cast was not at it's best. Also, certain costumes of the people were not that adequete in my opinion. But the storyline is great and I truly loved Keira Knightley's performance.
