Review of Prince Valiant (1997) by Betty T — 17 Jan 2010
A bit messy, feels rushed, some references possibly slaughtered during editing, some annoying plot holes, Lumley and her mirror fx are dreadful, the '80s dominatrix viking' superfluous, but overall an entertaining movie.
I grew up on a lot cheesier fantasy fare than this. Peeved at a.o.t. there being basically NO blood on any of the swords despite people being run through left and right; and the finale kiss being shown from such a distance is disappointing and prude when it obviously was quite alright to flash Katie's "southern cheeks" in the harem.
.. But but, Heigl IS lovely and spunky and Vampire Bill... eh, I mean Moyer suits the part of Valiant.
