Review of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time (2010) by Dc E — 07 Feb 2012

If you take this movie too seriously going in, you won't like it very much. I mean, it is from the same brain trust that brought us Captain Jack Sparrow .... so you can expect impossible action sequences, attempts at comedy at odd times, and more one liners than you can possibly handle.

Having said that, I was honestly entertained. Sure, it was campy at times, the entire cast oddly enough had British accents (in Persia!), and a few stunts were groan-worthy ... but it is a film that obviously does not take itself seriously in any way, shape, or form. Indeed, the entire movie plays out as almost tongue in cheek just to see if you'll bite and think of it as your standard action/adventure film.
