Review of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time (2010) by Brett B — 03 Jun 2012
There is some decent spectacle, and the action even has a fun, swashbuckling flavor, but the story is hackneyed beyond belief. I daresay there are no plot developments that aren't cribbed from other (better) films, the characters lack any kind of definition or uniqueness, and the run time feels needlessly padded.
Perhaps I shouldn't expect great scripting and strong characters from a summer blockbuster (and a video game adaptation, to boot) - and as pure "popcorn" entertainment, the movie's fine - but it does sort of feel like an inconsequential, disposable offering.
