Review of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time (2010) by Alex H — 19 Apr 2014

Prince of Persia is a disjointed mess of an Action Adventure Fantasy about a young fugitive prince and a princess who must stop a villain who unknowingly threatens to destroy the world with a special dagger that enables the magic sand inside to reverse time.

Though the narrative has some very good ideas, the film has a lot of cheesy moments and some woeful dialogue. Actress Gemma Arterton plays a very irritating character that at points you wish would just fall in a pit of venomous snakes.

Jake Gyllenhaal is by far the films biggest asset and is quite impressive in the lead role. The film is not helped by the fact it is based on a video game, lets be honest pretty much every film that is based on a game turns out as a complete flop.

However, the film has some good action scenes and is nevertheless an entertaining film to watch.
