Review of Prince Avalanche (2013) by Ky K — 19 Apr 2014
Prince Avalanche is a small film, but a beautifully realised one. Basically a two hander, it is set in the 1988 in Texas. Alvin and Lance are spending the summer repainting traffic lines in a burnt out forest.
They are two different characters and this film is a subtle rumination on their differences and their paths in life. Rudd and Hirsch are excellent in drawing you into their small story, expertly directed by David Gordon Green.
This is an intelligent film that is both refreshing and rewarding.
