Review of Primeval (2007) by Cody M — 08 Mar 2009

Confused croc flick that follows a group of shallow journalists that head to South Africa to hunt a monstrous man-eater and get mixed up with a local warlord. Half-decent production value and lovely scenery keep the film from being a total waste, but the move cannot decide if it's a giant predator movie or a political statement, and it completely fails at both.

Gustav, the monster of the piece, displays so many supernatural abilities yet cannot manage to snack on named cast members unless the plot requires it.
