Review of Primer (2004) by Sabrina I — 05 Jun 2011
This is one film that requires patience and it's important to stay alert to get on it's wavelength. It's a difficult one to follow especially when in the early parts of the film where they are discussing alot scientific mumble jumble that isn't making alot of sense.
The director could have made it easier on us but he chose the difficult route which is pretty admirable. Ultimately aside from the whole experiment/time travel aspect theres nothing else to keep our attention.
None of the characters are fleshed out properly but it's most likely because of budget constraints. Despite this the film is technically polished; loved the photography. The green hues gave the film a unique look.
As it stands; PRIMER is a fascinating puzzle that is one of the better and original sci-fi films.
