Primer's a low-budget under the radar piece that is surprisingly good filmmaking - made by someone who, on paper, you wouldn't think had any talent at making films. The treatment of scientific discovery as an unglamorous, highly technical event is a unique approach.
The premise is challenging and the movie shines on a $7,000 budget.
