Review of Primer (2004) by Matthew S — 28 Feb 2013
I am no stranger to complicated sci-fi plot lines, and I usually go out of my way to praise a film which doesn't pander to the dulled down preferances of the mainstream movie going crowd. This movie certainly does not dull down anything, but I have to admit, this one was a serious head scratcher.
I understood the basic story, but it was seriously up its own rear end with convoluted plot details and incomprehensible ideas. It is extremely thought provoking and well done, with good acting from an unknown cast.
Well written, and effectively filmed, and I can not deny its intellegence, but it is simply too hard to understand. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone unless they have an engineering or physics degree.
