Review of Primer (2004) by Robert D — 15 Jul 2013
If you are going watch this film, set some time aside, and watch it carefully. The film feeds you important dialogue every second, and expects you to know it. It then builds on this, if you don't understand one single piece of information early on, you won't understand anything else they say. The lack of CGI does not aid this either.
Criticisms aside, this film is bold and unique. It tackles an area which is quite hard to grasp generally, and succeeds greatly. The directing makes the film believable; about ordinary engineers creating something so powerful, that even they don't understand its true nature. You get a strong sense of fear, as the concept is mind bending, and furthermore scary. It makes you feel that if something like this was to happen to you, it would share the same emotions this film gives off.
Watch it, understand it, experience it. It is one of the better films I have seen in a long time.
