Review of Primer (2004) by Pierluigi F — 22 Oct 2014
Primer is delightfully complex, but it fails to reach an audience beyond its capability. This picture is far too intelligent for the general public and perhaps that's what makes it so untouchable; the fact that it's complicated plot and intricate web of paradoxes are too advanced to be criticised for anything other than its own paramount failure.
As a message and a concept, Primer is a classic, leagues above anything else of its era; but as a film it doesn't succeed in its primary purpose: to entertain.
