Review of Prime (2005) by Emma H — 15 May 2009
From the trailers one expects a classic romantic comedy, which is actually misleading as although at times very funny, it really is a tragi-comedy. I felt disappointed by the ending to begin with, but in fact, it could not have ended any other way, if it was to be real to life.
I actually could relate to Uma Thurman's role having also been involved with someone who was so much younger and from a different culture background at the same stage in life. That's where the parallels end though as my guy was not as nice as hers!!! Well acted by Meryl Streep as the typical Jewish mother and a great Uma Thurman.
If you are expecting only laughs, this is not the film for you, if you want to think about things a bit after it has all ended, you might well find yourself enjoying it.
