Review of Primary Colors (1998) by Robert N — 22 Feb 2009
Seen through the eyes of Henry, Primary Colors chronicles the campaign of Stanton to the Presidency including all it's ups and downs and various bumps in the road.
Although not actually about the Clintons, one could not help but see it as almost a story based on true events (which it wasn't). The acting was superb by all. We are taken on a journey through the innocent, "want to believe" eyes of Henry as he participates in the campaign.
I was impressed with the portrayal of Libby (Kathy Bates) whose character was a no-nonsense, tell it like it is, brash woman. However, her dreams and goals were very apparent as well as her ideals, she knew when to cross the line and when not to. Bates was very convincing at the end as a woman whose core beliefs were rocked.
