Review of Primal Fear (1996) by Kyle F — 10 Sep 2009
A very nicely constructed courtroom drama about the accused murder of a bishop by an altar boy (Edward Norton). A big money attorney (Richard Gere) takes the case and must find out the unusual events surrounding the case.
Norton truly steals this film, and if you can tolerate looking at Gere's face for a little over 2 hours, you will enjoy the ride. Another drama relating the the Catholic church, ethics and greed, the film never really blows you away. However, with an intelligent script, even if a bit forced and predictable at times, this movie is worth taking a look at.
