Review of Priest (2011) by Jim G — 08 Apr 2012
Not much to say about this movie. the beggining was very nice and promising , so was the idea, but the movie was waaay out of its potential.
Way too predictable, action scenes had some nice bullet-action but were really dull with no blood at all and a feeling of "i have seen this action scene a 100times" , the hero sacrificing his life and then being thrown like trash who later go vigilante and so and so all of this made this movie a " I have seen this again and again "kind one.
This movie could have been saved if the protagonists were more badass.paul bettany tried his best ,but this movie really wanted a total badass character to sympathize with ( kind of how riddick made pitch black and chronicles , very good movies from mediocre ones). the supporting roles were badly executed too.the ideas I mentioned before were nice, but in 1h20m movie there were a lot of them in a confined time schedule and really the result was bad and confusing. In contrary the scenery effects were terrific and breath-taking ,and the idea of non-humanlike vampires was very nice (the effects could be better though).
Concluding, this movie is an one-time easy watchable action movie. (realistic grade 5.5. ).
