Yes, it's derivative, and there isn't much of a story. But the point is, it's fun. That's all it needs to be, and that's all it is. Plus, the vampires were the coolest vampires ever.
I thought that after Twilight, vampires were ruined for me forever. Thank you, Priest, for giving us awesome vampires that aren't gay human disco balls.
