Oddly enough, I didn't find this to be terribly scary. I also didn't think it was terrible. Karl Urban was awesome (as always) and I liked Paul Bettany also. Cam Gigandet was ridiculous. I sort of liked the story even though it was a "to be continued" one.
I liked some of the effects but I found the vamps to be just silly. The familiars were weird zealots but I found them to be the most interesting characters in the movie. I am glad I didn't see it in the theatre but as a movie during a free movie channel weekend it was worth it.
