Review of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies (2016) by Kyle F — 14 Feb 2016
Having barely any knowledge of Jane Austen's original story or the 2009 best-seller, I simply wanted to see this film based on concept alone. Take a 1813 published satire of class warfare, and add the undead.
The result, something interesting and very enjoyable. The cast and crew do the film justice, by playing the concept straight, just like 2012's Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. There is occasional dark humour, lots of action, and fine performances from the entire case.
The result is something new that manages to find a balance between being funny, being scary, and being romantic at the same time. Pride and Prejudice and Zombie is a jolly good time.
