Review of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies (2016) by Renáta T — 27 May 2016
Pride and Prejudice and Zombies is a bad mix of Jane Austen drama and zombie horror. It never really succeeds at any. The acting is fine. I particularly liked Lily James as Elizabeth Bennet. Matt Smith was also a highlight as Mr.
Collins. The comedy works in a couple of scenes, but mostly fails. The gore isn't that great. But the movie is PG-13, so what was I expecting. The film's plot sticks to the Pride and Prejudice storyline, but just inserts zombies in it.
The zombie part didn't fit well in the storyline. Both parts were fine, but they didn't fit well together. The ending is very poor. It gets very boring and very generic. Overall, this is a bad mix of comedy and horror.
The film's premise got old very fast. I was very disappointed.
