Review of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies (2016) by Mloy X — 06 Aug 2016
Elizabeth Bennet (Lily James): To succeed in polite society, a young woman must be many things. Kind... well-read... and accomplished. But to survive in the world as WE know it, you'll need... other qualities.
I was half-hoping this to be better than it really was; after all, I love the original, classic Jane Austen novel "Pride & Prejudice", plus I'm a fan of "The Walking Dead"; so, naturally the combination of the two tales together would be appealing. But alas, sometimes no matter how good two things are separately, it doesn't necessarily make them twice as good together and this was a good example. I mean, I still appreciate the "Pride & Prejudice" aspects of the film and I do like the zombies in the film, but there was still something amiss. Overall, the film was just a big bowl of "okay".
