Pride and Prejudice and Zombies is the second book-to-film adaptation from one of Seth Grahame-Smith's extremely popular novels, and much like the last attempt (Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter), this film completely misses the mark and was far duller than any film with that title has the right to be.

The film stars mainly TV actors like Lily James, Jack Huston, Charles Dance, Lena Headey, and Matt Smith, who are all just "fine", the latter giving a truly terrible performance that made my eyes and ears sore every second he was on-screen.

The film certainly had potential, especially with the growing craze for zombie entertainment, but I'd say the final product is 75% Pride and Prejudice, and only 25% zombies; not what I signed up for.

The story is BRUTALLY boring, and I simply don't care about any of the Bennet sisters, or their entire futures relying on finding a husband. There are a couple of startling moments and some good kills in the film; the highlight being the very first zombie who is decapitated with a broken glass from the first-person perspective, but these moments are few and far between.

Basically, unless you're a Jane Austen fan, this film has very little for anyone else and I was highly disappointed by the slack pace, wooden characters, and so-so violence. The film also laughably sets itself up for a sequel, but there is zero chance of that ever happening!
