Review of Pride & Prejudice (2005) by Steven M — 29 Oct 2011
The filmmakers take the O.G. chick lit story and transmute it into something real and passionate. It doesn't have that staid or studied period drama feel - oddly, it feels like it's happening right now.
The two leads give surprisingly nuanced performances for what are essentially Everygirl and Everyboy characters, and the entire ensemble lends that light and sharp Austin wit a welcome counterbalance of vulnerability and emotional truth.
Bravo.
