The Bennets living in squalor, ill-fitting or inappropriate clothing (Why did Miss Bingley wear her chemise to a ball?), Mr. Bingley attending to Jane in her sickbed, not to mention the Sixteen Candles-esque ending (did John Hughes or Jane Austen write this?) were just a few of the major things wrong with this movie!!!! Did the director/screenwriter even read the book? They certainly didn't bother to brush up on the social mores of the Regency Period!! Neither the generally amusing Brenda Blethyn, nor the glorious Dame Judi Dench could save this asinine production!!!!
