Review of Pride and Prejudice (1940) by Soumaya K — 14 Apr 2006
This is the first version of Pride and Prejudice I ever had the pleasure of watching. I then ran out and got the book which I read cover to cover in a day. Of course I was only 10 at the time since then 20 years and many other versions have come and gone. I still think that Laurence Olivier is the difinative Mr Darcy and that Greer Garsons acting while typical of the late 30's and early 40's creates a faithfull picture of Elizabeth.
Bottom line... I loved it.
