Review of Pride and Prejudice (1940) by Rachel R — 18 Feb 2008
Although this version of P&P has its own charms and is, over all, a pleasant movie, it has to be the worst adaptation of the novel. I was most surprised to discover that Alduous Huxley, author of 'A Brave New World' was the screenwriter.
The costumes were downright horrible and illfitting for the time period. However I thought the actors portrayed the characters accurately in essence. I probably would've enjoyed it more if I didn't read the book.
