Review of Pride and Glory (2008) by Ben E — 01 Dec 2009

After reading some pretty mixed reviews for this film I wasn't sure If I would like it. It seems a lot of people wanted a better story. And I can agree somewhat, though I think It was good enough because everything else compensated for it.

The acting in this film was some of the best Ive seen in recent years. As always Edward Norton and Jon Voight have great performances, but I was really surprised by Colin Farrell, he did surprisingly well.

I thought the story was intense and very dark. The movie was shot reletively well, there were some scenes I thought needed some improving but otherwise I thought this was one of the better cop thrillers in the past 5 years.

Of course "The Departed" being at the top, then "We Own The Night" but this can hold it's own against those, it just can't surpass them.
