Review of Pride and Glory (2008) by Patrick C — 13 Feb 2010
I sometimes wonder why talented actors take on a script that is devoid of anything new or interesting. If you liked "The Departed", "Serpico","Training Day" or any other movies about corrupt cops and don't want to watch them again but you want the same idea, this movie is for you.
The only thing innovative about this film is that all the main characters are cops and in the same family which ratchets up the tension and the stakes a bit. Other than that, this is the same old movie played out for the 1000thtime.
Norton and Voight are both fantastic and John Ortiz is strong. Farrell is passable and the rest of the cast is tight and sharp.
