Review of Pride (2014) by Lowbrowcinema — 25 Oct 2014
PRIDE is a perfect Sunday afternoon movie. Uplifting in the extreme, this film about gays supporting striking miners in 1984 UK, slams you over the head with every plot point imaginable. You see the hits coming and it just doesn't matter mainly because the cast is so adorable without being coy.
Nothing grandiose or special here. Just a joy to behold as people come to together for uncommon causes. PRIDE is the kind of movie that makes you cry through the joy of humanity. So buy some popcorn, bring out the hankies, and call the schmaltz police.
