Review of Pride (2014) by Thomas N — 17 Oct 2014
To everyone who wants to examine their own personal evolution in how they think and feel about gays, gay rights, gay sexuality and gays having loving relationships, this is a great movie. To all those who want to see one of the best movies this year, this is it as well.
The movie is funny, touching, powerful and if you listen to your heart and mind, educational on how far we have come thinking about persons who are gay. Think about how you feel when two men or two women are hugging or kissing in the movie and think about where you were and we were as a society in 1985, the time period of the movie.
Just think how much more comfortable you are, as a straight person, seeing two persons who are gay showing each other basic affection. Then remember that from 1985 to almost the present day, there are hundreds of thousands of gays who still feel the need to remain hidden or at least, under the radar in some way or another.
In any event, great movie even if you do not feel like thinking about it.
