Review of Prick Up Your Ears (1987) by Mike M — 21 Jul 2007
Gary Oldman really makes this film playing the both lovable and detestable playwright Joe Orton. Alan Bennett's script is fantastic all the way though and the casting is suberb but Stephen Frears seems to be either too heavy or too light handed all the way through.
Well written and well acted but ultimately a little unsatisfying, particulalry in it's handling of the climax.
