Hi. If it's not just 'everything passes me by', but instead , examine,.

Then where does my copy of Pretty Woman go? Back to the rental store, a charity shop, or to a friend? Would I recommend it to you.

I'd say it's not very well done- but , if it makes sense, it's only trying to do what it does. Handsome Richard Gere for two hours, elegant Julia Roberts for two hours.

The trouble is the grit. Perhaps in the twenties, this movie would have been - I mean, I'm illiterate- there is the Prince and the Showgirl, isn't there? Lady and the Tramp. Beauty and the Beast- but would have been- do I mean kinder? Howard Hawks, comedy of manners. (I couldn't stand His Girl Friday, actually, seem to remember.).

But someone's taken it upon themselves (like Mel Gibson in Passion of the Christ shows Jesus being flayed- must have hurt, don't think about that, when fly through it in church) to make a point, saying she is a prostitute. (The world has brutalised her.) It looks to be a farce. And then, when you say you can't be serious, it appears to stop and stare at you, then blearily argue a case, why can’t someone go out with a prostitute? Only your judgement stops them.

I just think, that to win that argument, it is only showing certain parts of the truth, of life on the street. “It was important the other girl she worked with was also sexy and pretty,” the director comments on the extras. Now I know. Rather cloying. The grit, of his evil friend, and beating each other up, - the lightness of the mood is lost. I do think, stand-up comedians challenge themselves, particularly young ones, say 'I can make anything funny'. Finding is you can't- and it's a silly challenge to pick. Here, similarly, these jarring notes- has to be a prostitute, with a friend who gets high ; friend trying to hire her out, while they're at a horse race- do more than offering tension to a plot- they ruin the energy, of the piece overall, I opine.

I think this has a naïve view of sex. I think an adult princess movie would have more... understanding of the human condition? I'm not sure what I mean. I don't seriously expect that, here.

Well, what are kids watching this gonna do? Start being prostitutes to copy aunt Julia?

This is why, the joke she makes in Charlie Wilson's War stands a chance of being funny at all.

My copy - one went to a charity shop, and the other I rented. I don't recommend it- Ginger Rogers, Fred Astaire much better. Haven't seen Enchanted. Thanks.

Does it use beautiful people to get your attention? Yes.
