Review of Pretty Persuasion (2005) by Scott G — 03 Sep 2007
Dark comedy heathers style here.
Kimberly is a puplil who craves fame, and during the course of this film, will use all around her. along with her 2 friends, she very cunninly convinces them that they should report there teacher, for gross misconduct in the class room, there might be some truth to the alligations. and when they do, it leaks out to the local media, where a big fuss arupts, and the three kids might be deep over there head, this is a great look, at high school life, in america and the way media plays a role in the system, evan rachel wood is superb as kimberly, ever since thirteen, shes been doing great edgy indie roles, a very comical, but dark look at teen life, and a great charactor for her, you really dont wanna like this girl, theres lots of films if you liked youll love this, election, heathers, rushmore, cruel intentions, all play a role in inspiring this film, and its nice to see ron livingstone in a part, he was great in swingers and office space, and hes great as the teacher here, is he inocent the way the story is told you just dont know, another great american indie.
