Review of Pretty Persuasion (2005) by James B — 05 Jan 2008

This one is a real problem for me! While it's loaded with unappealing characters, too long and leaves a considerable bad taste after viewing.

I also found it fascinating, provocative with a well-chosen cast. Evan Rachel Wood is dynamite in the central role, though I dislike her character I can't take my eyes off her. As a dark comedy it's lacking as too often it turns serious, but as social satire it's extremely compelling. James Woods scores again in another small scuzzy role.

Defiantely a film that will evoke many different opinions and promote discussion, judge for yourself...
