Review of Pretty Persuasion (2005) by Nima R — 04 Dec 2005
This is a truly provocative movie that everyone would love to hate. It approaches taboo subjects such as racism with great ease and some would argue with little taste. Personally speaking I found this movie very interesting and at times shocked at the subject matter. .

Evan Rachel Wood portrays an unbelievably malevolent character who?s able to control people with her sexuality and charm. The film is well directed with all the sequences in the movie leading to the final climax. Marcos Siega, the director, presents a world in which no one person is ?good? or ?bad? and in which all the characters flawed..

This film leaves you shocked at what a seemingly innocent girl is capable of. It should also be said that although many people find this film insulting because of its mass stereotyping, it does actually depict a slice of American life. We have all become so politically correct that we assume these extreme views don?t exist anymore but the reality is far from that..
