Review of Pretty in Pink (1986) by Steven M — 18 Nov 2009
This is a very pleasant film written by the late, great John Hughes, that doesn't quite have the edge of his directed efforts "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" and "The Breakfast Club".
The theme of class division at school is actually more subtly dealt with than I remembered when I watched this recently. Well judged performances with hints of deep sadness from Stanton, Cryer and Janine from Ghostbusters help too.
I will revisit other Hughes films in the coming weeks.
