A more realistic depiction of high school life in the 80s then, say, "Sixteen Candles." Peer pressure, growing pains, friendships, family, and relationships, are displayed really well in one of John Hughes' best scripts, as well as one of the best teen movies of the 80s, or any time.
Molly Ringwald and Andrew McCarthy light up the screen, and Jon Cryer is memorable as Duckie.
